Sutter with his Li-Li (my mom) and his cousin Heidi. He is so loved by so many people and that makes my heart the happiest. Heidi kept saying, "Maybe he wants me to hold him. Maybe I need to squeak his thing (moose toy) so he's happy." She is the sweetest and loves our little baby so much.
A photo of my son one week every week of 2015. This is my goal for the new year. I also want to use our "real" (not phone) camera to take these photos. I'm hoping this space keeps me accountable. Plus my son is adorable, how can I not take photos!?

I think he was looking at his Daddy in this photo. He loves that guy so, so very much!

Uncle Kyle got him that outfit for Christmas. It's one of my favorites. This was also his first time wearing his moccs.
On January 7, 2015 Sutter J. turned 3-months-old!
Weight: 13 pounds
Length: 23.25 inches
Size: We are still in 0-3 month clothes primarily. Except sleepers, we packed all of his 3 month ones. He is in 6 month sleepers now (ALL THE TEARS). We are also starting to work in some 3-6 month things too. He is a shorty so most pants in 3-6 months are so long! But his 0-3 month pants are starting to get a little bit too snug in the waist. Chubby boy.
Hair: Has a pretty large bald spot in the back now. It looks awesome. But he is still rocking the rat tail and the long (super long) on top look. I think it looks like his hair is starting to get a little bit lighter, but it is still brown.
Nicknames: Buddy, Sutter J., lovebutt, sugar, lil' bub, Sutter-Bug, etc...
Sleeping: Still sleeping relatively well. Not all the way through the night anymore, but still does pretty well. We are normally up 1-2 times. Takes a nap in the morning around 10 until 12 or so.
Diet: Exclusively breastfed. I am trying to pump still, but i absolutely hate it. He has still only taken a bottle a handful of times, but I need to start trying more often so he stays skilled at it.
Health: Had his first cold this month. Poor little buddy was sick for a couple weeks. :(
Milestones:
- We got our first GIGGLE this month. It was absolutely the cutest freaking thing I ever heard. It has only happened once so far, but I think we will be getting more soon. He gives away smiles all the time and he trys to laugh I think he is just trying to figure it out.
Loves:
- Lots and lots of talking! I love hearing his little voice!
- Eating. Always eating.
- Playing with his Glowy toy.
- Baths. Seriously, this kid is a freaking fish. I love it.
- Talking with mommy and daddy.
- Standing. He always wants to stand. He never ever wants to sit or lay with me. Just stand.
- Sleeping with mommy in the morning after daddy leaves.
- Diaper changes on his changing pad.
- When I poke his cheeks/play with his mouth.
Dislikes:
- Tummy time. He absolutely hates it.
- Being in the car seat when we aren't moving in the car or stroller.
- Being hungry.
On December 7, 2104 Sutter turned 2-months-old!
Weight: 11 pounds 10 ounces
Length: 22.25 inches
Size: Size 1 diapers! Can still wear some of his newborn clothes, but transitioning into 0-3 month things! Waaah! My baby is getting so big.
Hair: It's grown a lot, but he has started to lose some around the sides as well as the back of his head.
Nicknames: Still Buddy a lot. Along with, honey, angle, sweet boy, lovebug, etc...
Sleeping: He rocked the whole sleeping thing at 2 months! He was blissfully sleeping through the night and was taking 3 naps a day. He is much more awake and alert
Diet: Exclusively breastfed. We tried a bottle at 6 weeks, but he hasn't taken one much. He rocks it when he does though! The kid will eat however whenever. We are still having to use the shield while nursing, but I am hoping we can transition out of that soon.
Health: Everything has been great. Sutter has started taking Zantac twice daily to help with he reflux. So far it doesn't seem to have made a huge difference, but hopefully it will start to help. Right now he just hates taking it. Dalton and I tasted it and I understand why, it's terrible! Poor buddy!
Milestones:
- I'm going to call sleeping through the night a milestone!
- We are starting to get more and more smiles and he has found his voice! It's so funny watching him learn new things
Loves:
- Bathtime! He is seriously like a little fish. He loves his baths with daddy! Dalton always does bathtime, it's their bonding time. SO CUTE!
- Still loves riding in the car seat and also the stroller. He pretty much always, always falls asleep while riding in the seat.
- When I make robot noises and poke his belly. He gets the cheesiest grin on his face! I absolutely love it.
- EATING. The boy never stops.
Dislikes:
- Diaper changes. He still hates them!
- Taking off/putting on clothes. Not a fan. It's gotten better, but still not something any of us enjoy. Yup, this is still the same.
Hi there! I'm Katelyn and if you're reading this you more than likely are already aware of that, but just incase there it is for ya. I have always wanted to start a blog, but never really felt like I had anything to write about. Well, now I have the best reason; my son, Sutter Joseph Liu. I am going to use this space as a kind of scrapbook/journal dedicated to my son as well as my little family.
A little background about the Liu family. There's myself, my husband (Dalton), Sutter, our lab Stella, and our cat Itsy. We became the Liu's (party of 2) on May 19, 2013. This past October we became a party of 3 when Sutter came into the world (more on that later).
My hope is that with this blog I am able to keep typed reminders of my sons first year and this season of our lives. I hope you enjoy!
